ALAC'RITY, n. [L. alacritas, from alacer, alaris.]
Cheerfulness; gaiety; sprightliness; more usually, a cheerful readiness or promptitude to do some act; cheerful willingness; as, the soldiers advanced with alacrity to meet the enemy.
