Apoplexy

AP'OPLEXY, n. [Gr. from, to strike.]
A sudden deprivation of all sense and voluntary motion, occasioned by repletion or whatever interrupts the action of the nerves upon the muscles.
Dryden, for the sake of measure, uses apoplex, for apoplexy.
