Sublimity

SUBLIM'ITY, n. [L. sublimitas.]
1. Elevation of place; lofty highth.
2. Highth in excellence; loftiness of nature or character;
moral grandeur; as God's incomprehensible sublimity.
The sublimity of the character of Christ owes nothing to his historians.
3. In oratory and composition, lofty conceptions, or such conceptions expressed in corresponding language; loftiness of sentiment or style.
